Rainbow Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

5 gel food dyes – pink, blue, green, red, yellow

good quality bread cut into thick slices

butter for spreading

mix of cheeses grated – emmental, gruyere, mozzarella and cheddar (x 2) were used in our attempt

How to make a rainbow grilled cheese! Yes, that’s right a rainbow themed grilled cheese recipe where the cheese used is dyed to create a cool rainbow effect!

Divide the cheeses into 5 different bowls and dye each one with a different colour teaspoon or so of food dye mix well to coat evenly.
Slice bread and butter one side only, pre-heat a pan to medium-high heat.

With one piece of bread butter side down arrange the dyed cheese evenly across the bread, place into the pan and place the other slice of bread on top butter side up.
Fry for a few minutes until cheese has started to melt and bread is golden brown. Carefully flip it over and brown the reverse for 2-3 minutes.

Remove from the pan, allow to cool for a moment before tucking in!
