4 tbsp golden syrup
1 egg
red, blue & white icing pen (or make your own)
2 purple jelly sweets

In this video I show you how to make Gingy, the Shrek Gingerbreadman recipe. Super easy, tasty and very fun to do! Hope you give this gingerbread a try!

This recipe is part of my movie food playlist, other include chilled monkey brains, chocolate death star and the five dollar shake from Pulp Fiction, check those out too!

To make Gingy, the shrek gingerbreadman you need to grab yourself a mixing bowl and add in your plain flour with the butter, cinnamon, ginger and bicarbonate of soda. Rub this together with your fingers, the colour may darken slightly and it will go crumbly.

Carry on by adding in the sugar, golden syrup (as mentioned in the video, if you can only get corn syrup which is a lighter colour maybe use dark brown sugar instead), then finally add the egg. That is a basic gingerbread recipe ingredients in the bowl right there, so mix well with your hands if you like and then place on a floured board.

It is very important to keep the board floured as it can stick quite easily! Roll out to 5cm or so thickness and cut out with a gingerbreadman cutter. Use your hands to alter the legs and arms of Gingy if needed then bake for 10-12 mins until lightly golden on a tray lined with baking paper.

Allow to cool fully then use coloured icing pens and jelly sweets to decorate and personalise your very own Gingy! Enjoy making this one guys and check out the other recipes above for more movie food inspiration!
